Counselor
H - Mc

This is my 6th year in Aurora Public Schools as a School Counselor but my first year with Gateway High School. I could not be more excited! My background is in Coaching/Athletics and what I realized was why I loved it so much was because I was able to mentor, build relationships and support youth. I wanted to expand beyond just athletes and work with a diverse group of young people. School Counseling was a natural transition. Every person has a story to tell and I feel honored to be in a position to hear them. I am a passionate about helping students advocate for their needs, be their true authentic selves and work to break down any barriers in the way towards their future. I do so with an equity, restorative and trauma informed lens at the core of my personal values. Working and living in the community for the last 6 years, I am so excited to continue to learn, support and serve Gateway High School in any way I can.

About Me

I am proudly from Buffalo, NY and moved to beautiful Colorado in 2008. I am a passionate and die hard Buffalo Bills fan, GO BILLS! Sports have always been a part of my life, I have played them all but my true love is the sport of Rugby. I was a player and a coach for over a span of 17 yrs. Before becoming a School Counselor I worked for USA Rugby as a Coach Development Manager and was honored to coach many teams including the University of Colorado Boulder. I am married with three fur babies. When I am not working or cheering on the Bills you can find me at as many live concerts as possible, sporting events, gardening, traveling, in nature, binging tv/movies or spending time with friends and family. Laughing is my favorite thing.
