Dear Gateway High School Community,
I am pleased to announce the selection of Mehran Ahmed as the interim principal of Gateway High School. Mr. Ahmed has served as an assistant principal at Gateway for the past four years. He was also a dean of students at Henry World Middle School in Denver. Prior to serving as a school leader, he was a middle and high school teacher in Denver and Houston, Texas.
Mr. Ahmed earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Sam Houston State University. He earned his master’s degree in education and received his administrative license from Tarleton State University. Mr. Ahmed is currently pursuing a doctoral degree.
During his time at Gateway, Mr. Ahmed has built strong relationships with our students, staff and families. He is passionate about maintaining Gateway’s vision of leading our community to think globally and act locally.
As we search for a long-term leader for Gateway during the 2018-19 school year, we will identify desired principal attributes through staff and parent input sessions. We also want to make sure we take our school’s unique culture into account without rushing our hiring process.
In the meantime, Mr. Ahmed is enthusiastic to lead our school. Please join me in congratulating him as the new interim principal of our OLY family!

Parents/Guardians should complete online check-in first, then stop by Gateway during your student's designated check in time (See check-in schedule below)
There are now two options for parents to complete the Check-In Application:
- Use the following link: Parents will need to provide the email address in Infinite Campus and a student's date of birth and Student ID #: https://webapps.aps.k12.co.us/StudentCheckin/welcome.asp
