Hello Olympians!
The CTE family took 32 students to the State competition in Pueblo, Colorado, from Wednesday to Friday evening. Thank you to Mr. Woods, Ms. Gilman, and Ms. Howard for being fantastic bus drivers, teachers, advisors, mentors, room checkers, etc....
Our OLYS competed in CSI investigations, photography, job interviews, robotics, video game design, news, commercial makers, math testing, architectural drafting, and pin and shirt design.
Gateway walked away with a couple of new state banners and many medals. Please congratulate our wonderful students this week
1- The Gateway Chapter of Skills USA earned a Silver medal of distinction.
2- Jasmine Clark is the Skills USA Vice President of Colorado.
3- La'ray (Lulu) Clemmons won the Bronze medal in customer service.
4- In architectural drafting, Prahlad Shultz brought home a Bronze medal.
5- One OLY TV news team (Lulu Clemmons, Jazzmine Clark, Jazzmine Carter, and Savannah DaSilva) took the Bronze medal this year.
6- The other OLY TV new team (Wissal Chichou, Yureighna Fredrick, Ruth Salazar, and Braxen Moore) are wearing silver medals this year.
7- Edericka Tetteh and Ayub Abdullahi are State Champions and Gold Medalists in Urban Robotics.
(Ayub could not sleep at the event, so a huge thank you to Ms. Rose and Ms. Weiss for bringing Ayub on a one-day trip to Pueblo. Our dedicated colleagues were up at 4:30 AM making sure Ayub was in front of the judges by 8 AM. Amazing).
8- Finally, Regina Terrazas and Anahi Hernandez built a Gold Medal, State Championship commercial on mental health.
