Attention Gateway Community: 2026 Global Teen Police Academy

Are your teenagers interested in a career in law enforcement or curious about public safety? The Aurora Police Department, in partnership with the Office of International and Immigrant Affairs, is hosting the Global Teen Police Academy! This is a fantastic opportunity for local youth to connect with officers and explore community safety. Here are the details for the upcoming summer sessions:

Who Can Attend:

High school students ages 14 to 17.

Summer Dates:

The June session runs from Monday, June 15 to Friday, June 26. The July session runs from Monday, July 6 to Friday, July 17.

Session Times:

Students can choose between morning sessions (8 a.m. - Noon) or afternoon sessions (12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.). Location: Classes will be held at various locations throughout Aurora.

What to Expect:

The academy features a wide range of classes, including 911 Communications, Crime Prevention and Internet Safety, Advanced Drivers Training, and an Obstacle Course. Students will also get hands-on experience and instruction from specialized APD units like SWAT, K9, and the Gang Unit.

Graduation:

Family and friends can celebrate the students' achievements at graduation ceremonies held at the Aurora Municipal Center Council Chambers (15151 E. Alameda Parkway) on June 26 or July 17 at 6 p.m.
