Community Message from Principal Ahmed

Dear Oly Students, Families, & Staff,

It is with great honor and excitement that I am returning to our community in a new role as the Principal of Gateway High School. My passion for education and equity for students has been shaped over the last 12 years as a  teacher, assistant principal and now an opportunity to lead our community as a principal.

Collectively, we have the responsibility to unite our community to ensure all of our students have a successful educational experience at Gateway High School. With the lens of our International Baccalaureate philosophies, we will provide a holistic education approach with  high quality instruction from top-notch teachers as well as opportunities for our students to participate in a variety of  arts, athletics, and activities. Thinking through opportunities for all of our students, I often reflect upon the instruction I was exposed to as a student and want to ensure that our students receive equitable access to a educational experience.

I am excited to see our students and staff unite this year through collaboration, risk-taking evidenced by pushing ourselves beyond our comfort zone to achieve great things, care about one another with empathy and compassion, and drive our learning through inquiry and curiosity. There is a rich history of a family atmosphere at Gateway High School and with this continued value we will achieve our goals as a school for the 2018-2019 school year!

I will be scheduling listening sessions for teachers and staff to come in and share their thoughts and ideas for this upcoming school year. Parents and students please contact me to schedule a time to meet to share your ideas as well. I look forward to a great year ahead of us and please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

I am here to serve you as the leader of our community here at Gateway!

Have a great rest of your summer!
