Career and Technical Education - ProStart

I am so excited to be here at Gateway, and to be teaching a subject matter that I love. Cooking is at the heart of making people feel happy and loved. I feel honored that I get to help students learn how to cook, and to introduce them to a challenging and rewarding industry. I am so excited to be teaching: -Baking & Pastry -Culinary Essentials -ProStart I/II

About Me

I studied Culinary Arts and Family and Consumer Sciences Education at Johnson & Wales University here in Denver before diving into 10 years of teaching. I have taught a multitude of classes (Child Development, Credit Recovery, Culinary Essentials, Culinary Nutrition, Independent Living, Relationships, Teen Choices, and Teen Parenting). The majority of my teaching career was at an alternative high school in Littleton called Options. I also have my Master's in Educational Administration and was a Dean.Assistant Principal for three years. I really missed teaching and working with high school students. I couldn't be happier to be at Gateway.
