“Be careful what you water your dreams with. Water them with worry and fear and you will produce weeds that choke the life from your dream. Water them with optimism and solutions and you will cultivate success. Always be on the lookout for ways to turn a problem into an opportunity for success. Always be on the lookout for ways to nurture your dream.” ― Lao Tzu
I am committed to providing a quality science education that is engaging and meaningful for all of my students. I also hope to teach them how to learn and grow from any challenge put before them. If we approach challenges with a positive mindset we can overcome them!! From this perseverance we learn how capable we really are and how we can continue to improve.
About Me
I am originally from a rural town in Oklahoma. When I finally graduated high school I decided to move out of my home town to pursue my degrees in physics and mathematics. As I learned more about the jobs available to me with these degrees I realized that many of them did not resonate with me on a personal level. It was mostly lab work, computer programs, or corporate positions that did not spark an interest for me. I decided to look for jobs in education because I felt that it was a place I could actually make a difference. I taught in a charter school for four years before I took a position at Gateway. I am very passionate about education and am excited to continue to grow and get better at teaching every day!
