I love teaching and coaching at Gateway High School because it allows me to make a positive impact on the lives of young individuals. Seeing my students grow academically, emotionally, and athletically brings me immense joy and fulfillment. The supportive and inclusive community at Gateway High School enhances the teaching and learning experience, creating an environment where students feel valued, motivated, and encouraged to reach their full potential. Being able to witness the transformation and growth of my students is incredibly rewarding, and I am grateful for the opportunity to help shape their futures and contribute to their success.

About Me

Firstly, I hail from the vibrant city of Nashville, Tennessee where I attend Pearl Cohn High School and was a three sport athlete. After completing my education at the University of North Carolina, where I played football, I embarked on a career that I am truly passionate about. I am not only fortunate enough to be the head football coach for our school, but I also hold the positions of head baseball coach and head strength and conditioning coach. It brings me immense joy to help shape young athletes and guide them towards success both on and off the field. Outside of my coaching responsibilities, I find great fulfillment in being a mentor to the youth. I believe in the power of positive role models and aim to inspire students to reach their full potential in all aspects of life. I am a strong advocate for personal growth, hard work, and determination. On a more personal note, I am a proud husband and father. I have a supportive wife Kourtney and two beautiful children, my son Rashad Mason Jr. aged 3 and my daughter Kahlia Mason aged 4. They bring endless joy and meaning to my life, and I am grateful for their unwavering support. Apart from my love for family and sports, I also have a deep passion for animals and cooking. On weekends, you might find me exploring nature trails or experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.
