I am passionate about helping students achieve their highest potential. I want every student to leave high school prepared to move forward and be a success adult in whatever capacity that might be. I like the quote by Richard Rodriguez "Language is a social event." Language is something we do to communicate with others, it's always going to have a social component to it. That is why we use language to communicate.

About Me

I am from a small town in Southern Oregon, but I've lived in a variety of places. I have been a teacher since 2005, and in that time I have had to fill many different shoes. I come from a long line of educators stretching all the way back to my great-great grandfather, so I guess you can say that it's in my blood. I started teaching at Seaside high school in Seaside Oregon, after which I moved to Vietnam to teach, and ended up living there for 12 years. During COVID my wife and I decided to move back to America and my wife applied for a green card. She got her green card in 2021, and so we moved back to Washington State. We lived in a place called Tri-cities in Eastern Washington for 2 years, and then my wife got a job in Denver, and so now we're living in Denver and I'm teaching at Gateway High School.
