Step in an engineer's shoes

Project Lead The Way

From launching space explorations to delivering safe, clean water to communities, engineers find solutions to pressing problems and turn their ideas into reality. PLTW Engineering empowers students to step into the role of an engineer, adopt a problem-solving mindset, and make the leap from dreamers to doers. The program's courses engage students in compelling, real-world challenges that help them become better collaborators and thinkers. Students take from the courses in-demand knowledge and skills they will use in high school and for the rest of their lives, on any career path they take.

Changing the future

Digital Media

Digital Media is a pathway for students who aspire to become influencers, creators, editors, producers, and shape the public's perception of the world. The journalism and broadcasting trails prepare students for work in researching, writing, production of news stories, and presentation of commentaries. Courses in this pathway help students formulate and develop competencies they will need for careers in the communication field. Whether in front of the camera or posting in the school's newspaper, digital media pathways will guide you to get the most from the multimedia digital society we live in today and in the future.

High-paying, high-demand jobs

Wood Manufacturing

America's manufacturing industry is desperate to hire highly trained employees. Start your journey into this high paying field here at Gateway High School's Cabinet manufacturing program. Using the cutting edge curriculum that was developed by Dean Mattson at The MiLL National Training Center, students will focus on lean manufacturing using the latest wood industry technology and an industry/education model. As students develop the disciplines of woodworking, critical thinking, design, mathematics, writing, drawing, speaking skills, and work ethics; they are laying the foundation for college, a career, or just developing a passion and life long hobby.

Creative employment opportunities

Design and Multimedia Arts

In the Design and Multimedia Arts pathway, we believe that every person has artistic potential. When design concepts are applied to modern day multimedia art, we can prepare students for high demand careers within the arts. We believe that, through the arts, there are always multiple approaches to solving problems and questions can always have more than one answer. When you combine the design and media arts principles with the elements of the design process, students will have the knowledge, skills and abilities to enter the workforce in creative fields and introductory skills for many other industry employment opportunities.

Exploring the possibilities

Culinary Arts

The Culinary Arts pathway encompasses all of the sectors within the food and hospitality industry. Students are able to explore career and job opportunities and learn the technical, professional, and soft skills needed to succeed. Students in the Culinary Arts pathway will have many work-based experiences, offering a glimpse into the industry and providing real-life experiences that establish a foundation for a career that is transferable across the world, while also developing life skills to help them flourish in life after high school.

More than just studying

Health Sciences

Our Health Science Pathway offers students a comprehensive introduction to the dynamic and rewarding healthcare field. The two-semester Introduction to Health Science course provides an in-depth overview of the diverse career opportunities in healthcare, covering everything from health maintenance and employability skills to teamwork, healthcare systems, communications, and legal issues in the field. Students will also gain hands-on experience with foundational skills, including preparation for the Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification. After completing this foundational course, students can continue in the pathway by taking advanced science courses like Anatomy & Physiology or earning credentials through classes such as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). The pathway coordinator, Danielle Willard, BSN, RN, RNC-MNN, draws on her extensive industry knowledge to provide students with valuable real-world insights and skills. The pathway aims to equip students with both the knowledge and practical skills needed to excel in the healthcare industry.
