Gateway High School

Career and technical courses prepare Gateway students for a wide range of high-wage, high-skill, and high-demand careers.

Research has shown that students who take one CTE class for every two academic classes minimize their risk of dropping out of high school while taking multiple CTE courses increases a student's likelihood of enrolling in trade schools, community colleges, and 4-year universities. Whether or not Gateway students know their career path, CTE Courses at Gateway High School will give them experiences and knowledge to help them along their journey.

Constructech

This pathway involved building and fixing things such as houses, factories, roads and water systems. It also covers jobs like painting, wiring building for electricity, and installing plumbing.

ProStart

This pathway takes you into the world of restaurants, hotels, and tourism, where you can start with essential jobs in food preparation adn work you way up to being a chef, server, or even running your own resturant.

Forensic Science

This pathway is all about solving chrimes, protecting the public and understandin the law; through this pathway you could work as a detective or a scientist who studies evidence, or help keep communities safe as a police officer.

Health Science 

This pathway prepares students for careers in the health-related fields bu teaching technical, communcation, and teamwork skills and knowledge needed to care for people.

Computer Science

This pathway leads to careers involving the creation and management of computer software, hardware and technological systems; technology is one of the largest and fastest frowning job markest in the United States.

Business

This pathway leads to careers that involve business leadership, understanding what sustomers wants, and selling and marketing products or services.

Graphic Design

This pathway introduces fundamental principles of visual communication, which are directly transferable to understanding composition and visual storytelling in photography. Furthermore, learning industry-standard software like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator in such a class provides a strong foundation for post-processing photographs or creating visual assets as a graphic designer.

Journalism/ TV production

This pathway equip students with essential skills in storytelling, interviewing, and visual media creation, all directly applicable to careers in journalism. Moreover, hands-on experience with cameras, editing software, and broadcast techniques in these classes provides a valuable entry point for various roles within the TV production industry.
